Programme overview:  

The MSc Professional Leadership part time programme enables graduate professionals in all sectors to enhance their continued professional development and lifelong learning through the negotiation of learning contracts, specifically developed work based learning initiatives and post graduate level academic study.

The MSc Professional Leadership programme is designed for individuals whose current role is to innovate, either in public, social or private enterprise on a major or minor scale. It will open up opportunities for personal and professional development. 

Structured over three phases, the programme will encourage you to evaluate methodologies and apply critical thinking, to theoretical and work-based projects, giving you the opportunity to develop your professional practice.

The personalised nature of the MSc Professional Leadership programme will ensure that the modules are tailored to reflect your individual needs – enabling you to progress in your current role, or in a new career.

This programme will particularly suit individuals or groups who do not have a masters qualifications but who have either a degree or senior management experience in the workplace and now wish to formalise this through the achievement of an academic award to assist with career progression. 

It would also suit those who are changing career and seek further study to support that career progression within the academic community whilst working.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have at least one of the following:

  • Bachelors Degree (Hons) 2:2 or above
  • Advanced Level Diploma
  • NQF Level 6 Qualification (or international equivalent)

Please note that we will consider applications from mature students (aged 21 or over) who do not meet the standard entry requirements, provided evidence of work experience (minimum 3 years) can be demonstrated on their CV. Dependent on the length of work experience, some applicants may need a Level 5 qualification to support their application.

Other equivalent qualifications may be considered if the Admissions Tutors believe applicants have the potential, motivation and knowledge to complete the course successfully. Accreditation for prior learning will also be considered on an individual basis.

If you already hold a PG Dip, or an equivalent qualification, you may be approved to proceed ‘with advanced standing.'
